God’s Perfect Timing in Life’s Seasons
A Reflection on Isaiah 60:22
“When the time is right, I, the Lord, will make it happen.” — Isaiah 60:22 There are seasons in life where it feels like nothing is moving. Prayers seem unanswered. Doors stay closed. Progress feels painfully slow. You keep showing up, keep trusting, keep praying… but it feels like heaven is silent. And then suddenly — everything changes. One phone call. One opportunity. One breakthrough. One moment of favor. One answered prayer. What took years of waiting can shift in a single moment when God says, “Now.” Isaiah 60:22 reminds us of something powerful: God is never late, and He never loses control of the timeline. We often want immediate answers, but God works through preparation before manifestation. What feels like delay is often development. While we are asking God to move faster, He is making us stronger, wiser, deeper, and more dependent on Him. The truth is, premature blessing can crush a person who isn’t ready to carry it. God knows the exact moment when the promise, the opportunity, the healing, or the breakthrough will not destroy you — but sustain you.
And when His timing arrives, things can move with unbelievable speed. Joseph went from prison to the palace in one day. David went from shepherd to king by God’s timing. The disciples went from fear to boldness after Pentecost. What God ordains does not need human striving to survive. Some of the greatest miracles in Scripture came after long periods of silence. That’s the tension of faith: Waiting without quitting. Trusting without seeing. Believing when nothing appears to be changing.
But Isaiah 60:22 gives hope to weary hearts: God knows the timing. Not your timing. Not culture’s timing. Not comparison’s timing. His timing. And when He decides the season has come, no person can stop what He has ordained. Maybe today you feel forgotten. Maybe you feel stuck in a season that has lasted longer than expected. Don’t confuse delay with denial. God is still working. Roots grow deep underground before fruit ever appears above the surface. Some promises take time because God is building something eternal, not temporary. Stay faithful in the waiting season. Keep praying. Keep trusting. Keep serving. Keep obeying. Because one moment with God can change everything. The same God who asks you to wait is also the God who says: “When the time is right, I, the Lord, will make it happen.”And when He does… it will be worth every moment of the wait.
