According to Your Faith

“Then he touched their eyes and said, ‘Because of your faith, it will happen.’” — Matthew 9:29 NLT

There’s something both encouraging and challenging about these words from Jesus: “Because of your faith, it will happen.” Two blind men had been following Jesus, crying out for mercy. When they finally came to Him, Jesus asked them a simple question: “Do you believe I can make you see?” They answered, “Yes, Lord.” Then Jesus touched their eyes.

What stands out to me is that Jesus didn’t ask them if they understood how He was going to do it. He didn’t ask them if they had figured everything out. He simply asked: “Do you believe I can?” Maybe that’s the question some of us need to hear today. Do you believe He can? You may not know how the provision is going to come. You may not know how the relationship is going to be restored. You may not know how the door is going to open. You may not know how God is going to bring you through this season. You may not know how the story is going to end. But faith doesn’t require knowing how.

Faith is believing in Who. Sometimes we think faith means being confident that God will do exactly what we want Him to do. But biblical faith goes deeper than that. It says: “God, I believe You can—and even when I don’t understand what You’re doing, I trust You.” That distinction matters.

Faith isn’t a formula for getting whatever we ask for. It’s confidence in the character, power, wisdom, and goodness of God. The blind men came to Jesus because they believed their situation wasn’t beyond His ability. Maybe yours isn’t either. The mountain may look enormous. The resources may look small. The circumstances may look impossible. The answer may seem nowhere in sight. But none of those things determine what God is capable of doing.

So today, instead of asking yourself a hundred times, “How is this ever going to work out?”Ask yourself the question Jesus asked:

“Do you believe I can?”

And maybe your prayer today simply needs to be: “Yes, Lord. I believe You can. I don’t know how. I don’t know when. I don’t know what Your answer will look like. But I know who You are, and I choose to trust You.” Faith doesn’t need to see the whole road. It just needs to know the One leading the way. Because what feels impossible to us has never intimidated God.
