Trusting God with your timeline

Trusting God with your timeline

My Times Are in His Hands

Psalm 31:15

“My times are in Your hand…” — Psalm 31:15

There are seasons when life feels completely out of our control. Plans change. Doors close. Answers take longer than expected. People leave. Opportunities disappear. Prayers seem delayed. And suddenly, the timeline we had pictured for our lives looks nothing like the one we’re actually living. David understood that feeling. Psalm 31 wasn’t written from a place of comfort. David was surrounded by trouble. He felt forgotten, rejected, and overwhelmed. Yet right in the middle of all that uncertainty, he makes this powerful declaration: “My times are in Your hand.” In other words: God, I don’t know what happens next—but You do. What a freeing truth.

God Holds the Timeline

We spend so much energy trying to figure out when. When will this season end? When will the prayer be answered? When will the door open? When will things finally change? But God doesn’t always give us the timeline. Instead, He asks us to trust the One holding it. Faith isn’t knowing what happens next. Faith is knowing Who holds what happens next. Your life isn’t slipping through God’s fingers. The waiting isn’t wasted. The delay isn’t proof that God has forgotten you. The season you’re walking through hasn’t caught Him by surprise. Your times are in His hands.

Trust God With the Season You’re In

Sometimes we’re so focused on getting to the next season that we miss what God wants to do in this one. We pray, “God, get me out of here.” And sometimes God is saying, “I’m going to use this right here.” There are things God develops in waiting that cannot be developed through rushing. There is strength formed in uncertainty. There is faith built in seasons when you cannot see the outcome. There is dependence on God that grows when all you can do is trust Him one day at a time. Maybe you wouldn’t have chosen this season. Maybe this isn’t where you thought you’d be. Maybe you’re looking at your life thinking, “God, this wasn’t part of my plan.” But you can still say: “My times are in Your hand.”

You Don’t Have to Control What God Already Holds

That’s the invitation of Psalm 31:15. Release the timeline. Release the pressure to have everything figured out. Release the fear that you’re running out of time. Release the need to know exactly how everything is going to work. God isn’t asking you to hold tomorrow. He’s asking you to trust Him today. The same hands that formed you are holding you. The same hands that carried you through yesterday are already waiting for you in tomorrow. So whatever season you’re walking through today, remember: You may not know what’s next.
You may not understand the timing.
You may not see how the story comes together. But you know whose hands you’re in. And that’s enough.

Prayer

Lord, my times are in Your hands. Forgive me for the moments when I’ve tried to control what only You can control. Help me trust Your timing when I don’t understand it. Teach me to be faithful in the season I’m in instead of constantly worrying about the season ahead. I surrender my plans, my timeline, my questions, and my future to You. My life is in Your hands, and there is no safer place for me to be. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Remember Today

I don’t have to know the timeline when I know the One holding it.My times are in His hands.
