The Righteous Are Bold As A Lion.”

“The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion.” — Proverbs 28:1

There is a kind of confidence that doesn’t come from personality, position, or having all the answers. It comes from knowing your heart is right before God. Proverbs 28:1 says: “The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion.” Guilt makes you run. When we know something isn’t right, we become defensive. We start looking over our shoulder. We worry about being exposed. Sometimes nobody is even chasing us, but our own conscience won’t let us rest. But righteousness produces something entirely different: Boldness. Not arrogance. Not pride. Not the need to prove yourself. Just a quiet confidence that says, “I know who I belong to, I know what God has called me to do, and I’m going to keep walking forward.”

You Don’t Have to Live Afraid

One of the enemy’s favorite weapons is intimidation. He wants you second-guessing everything. What if I fail?  What will people think?  What if they misunderstand me?  What if I’m not enough? But when you are walking with the Lord, you don’t have to live controlled by those voices. “The righteous are bold as a lion.” A lion doesn’t ask permission to be a lion. It knows what it is. And there is something powerful about a believer who knows who they are in Christ. You don’t need everyone’s approval when you have God’s presence. You don’t need everyone to understand your obedience. You don’t need the road ahead to be easy. You simply need to know that you are walking with Jesus.

Boldness Comes From His Presence

Biblical boldness doesn’t mean you never feel afraid. It means fear no longer gets the final word. David stood before Goliath because he knew God was with him. Daniel continued praying because he knew who his God was. Peter preached boldly after Pentecost because the Holy Spirit had filled him. Their courage wasn’t rooted in themselves. It was rooted in God. That means you can be trembling on the inside and still take the next step of obedience. You can feel uncertain and still trust. You can face opposition and still stand. You can walk through a difficult season and still declare:“God is with me, so I will not run.”

Stop Running From What God Has Called You to Face

Maybe today there is something you’ve been avoiding. A conversation. A decision. An act of obedience. A step of faith. Maybe fear has convinced you to retreat when God is calling you to advance. Remember Proverbs 28:1.You are not called to live looking over your shoulder. If there is sin, confess it. If something needs to be made right, make it right. And then stand in the grace of Jesus and move forward. Because when your confidence is in Christ, you don’t have to run from every battle. You can be bold as a lion. Not because you are strong enough. Not because you know what tomorrow holds. But because you know the One who goes with you.

Today’s Encouragement

Walk closely with Jesus. Keep your conscience clear. Do what God has asked you to do. And when fear tells you to run, remember: The righteous are bold as a lion. You belong to Jesus. You are not walking alone. So lift your head, trust your God, and keep moving forward.

Prayer

Lord, give me the courage to walk faithfully with You today. Search my heart and show me anything that needs to be made right. Help me not to live controlled by guilt, fear, or the opinions of others. Give me a holy boldness that comes from knowing You are with me. When I’m tempted to retreat, help me stand firm. May my confidence never be in myself, but always in You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
