Stay Calm

"Just Stay Calm" Have you ever had a portion of scripture keep showing up in a variety of ways and it appears so clear that the Lord is speaking to you? That is exactly what I have been experiencing and yet I'm finding to be challenging so I wrote about it...Have you ever heard the words "Just stay calm?" And that goes against everything in your entire being?
If so, I hope this blog post brings you encouragement! Exodus 14:13-14 (NLT)"Don't be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today… The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm."
The Israelites were in full-blown panic. Pharaoh's army was behind them. The Red Sea was in front of them. No options. No escape. Fear and desperation overwhelmed them.
But then Moses speaks up - not with a strategy, not with a battle plan - but with a word from God:"Stand still.""Watch.""Stay calm." It goes against every instinct we have when we're afraid. We want to run. We want to fix. We want to take control. But God was reminding His people that He hadn't brought them out of Egypt to abandon them now. He was going to show up - in power. And He still does.
Whatever battle you're facing today, whatever feels like it's closing in around you - God sees it. He's not late. He's not confused. He's fighting for you, even when you can't see it yet.
Let's Pray: Lord, when I'm overwhelmed, help me to be still and trust that You are fighting for me. Calm my heart. Strengthen my faith. Let me see Your deliverance in Your perfect time. In Jesus' name, amen.
