Sowing Tears

Sowing Tears

Psalm 126:5 — “Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy.” There are seasons where life feels like loss. Not loud loss. Not dramatic loss. But the quiet kind. The kind where prayers feel unanswered. Where relationships feel strained. Where your heart carries a weight you can’t quite explain—but you feel it in everything. Psalm 126 doesn’t ignore that reality. It speaks directly into it.“Those who sow in tears…” That means something important: God acknowledges the tears. Not avoids them. Not dismisses them. Not rushes you past them. He sees every tear you’ve cried in the quiet. Every burden you’ve carried without words. Every moment where you chose to keep going when it would’ve been easier to quit. And here’s what He says: Your tears are not wasted. They are seeds.

Sowing in Tears

Sowing is intentional. It’s not accidental. It’s not passive. It’s costly. Farmers don’t scatter seed because they feel like it—they do it because they believe something is coming. And that’s what faith looks like in painful seasons.

  • You keep loving when it hurts.
  • You keep praying when it feels silent.
  • You keep showing up when your heart feels heavy.
  • You keep trusting when you don’t understand.

That is sowing in tears. And let’s be honest—it doesn’t feel victorious in the moment. It feels like survival. It feels like obedience without clarity. It feels like holding on by a thread. But heaven sees something different. Heaven sees a harvest forming.

The Promise of Joy

…shall reap with shouts of joy.” Not might. Not hopefully. Shall. There is a promise attached to your pain. Joy is coming. Restoration is coming. Healing is coming. Not because life suddenly gets easy—but because God is faithful. The same God who sees your tears is the God who brings the harvest. And when the harvest comes, it won’t just be quiet relief. It will be shouts of joy. The kind of joy that only comes after walking through something that should’ve broken you—but didn’t.

Don’t Stop Sowing

If you’re in a season right now where your heart is heavy…Don’t stop. Don’t stop trusting. Don’t stop praying. Don’t stop loving. Don’t stop showing up. Even if all you have are tears—keep sowing them. Because in the Kingdom of God, tears are never the end of the story. They are the beginning of a harvest.

Let’s Pray

Lord, You see the tears we don’t talk about. You know the weight we carry. Help us to keep sowing in faith, even when it hurts. Remind us that nothing given to You is ever wasted. And give us the strength to trust that joy is coming—because You are faithful. In Jesus’ name,Amen.

Final Thought

What feels like breaking today may be planting something that will bring joy tomorrow.
