One Year Later — A Heartfelt Thank You

One Year Later — A Heartfelt Thank You

It’s hard to believe that it’s been one year since the day that altered my life — the day I had my stroke. I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on how incredibly challenging that time was. From being rushed away in an ambulance to spending 72 days in the hospital, it was a season I never want to relive — but one I will never forget.

And yet, in the middle of that storm, I witnessed the faithfulness of God like never before. I would not trade what I’ve learned or gained through this experience for anything.

First and foremost, I give thanks to God. He kept me alive, sustained me, and left me with minimal effects. He cared for my family, upheld our church, and in a time when everything could have fallen apart — He held it all together. Coming home to see not just survival, but growth and strength, was nothing short of miraculous.

To my wife — thank you. Your love, your presence, and your voice when I had none were gifts I will never stop being grateful for.

To my children — thank you for giving me the fight to keep going, for being my motivation to work hard and make it back home.

To our church family at The Anchor — your overwhelming love and support carried us. Your prayers, your presence, and your service left a lasting mark on my heart.

To the wider Body of Christ — the “big C” Church — thank you. Many of you I’ve never met, but you stood with us through prayer, financial gifts, and acts of service. Your love was felt deeply.

All of this to say: Thank You.Thank You, God — for Your mercy and grace.Thank you, each one of you — for walking with me through the darkest season of my life.

I will never forget this journey — not because of the pain, but because of the love that made it bearable.

2 Corinthians 1:10–11 (NIV)“He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and He will deliver us again. On Him we have set our hope that He will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many

With all my heart, Much Love, Nick
