Never Forget the Blessings

Life has a way of pulling our attention to what we lack instead of what we have. It’s so easy to focus on problems, disappointments, or the next mountain we need to climb that we miss the evidence of God’s goodness right in front of us.But as believers, we are called to remember.
Over and over in Scripture, God’s people are instructed to remember what He has done — to rehearse His faithfulness, to share His provision with the next generation, and to mark moments of His deliverance with gratitude. When we forget the blessings, our hearts grow hard. We complain. We doubt. We lose sight of the truth that God is still working, still present, and still pouring out His favor in ways we can’t always see.
But when we remember the blessings, something changes. Our perspective shifts. Our prayers gain strength. Gratitude takes root, and hope begins to blossom again.Maybe you can look back today and see blessings you once prayed for — the job, the spouse, the child, the healing, the breakthrough. Maybe you’re living in answered prayers you barely even acknowledge anymore. Or maybe God’s blessings look less like possessions and more like peace in a storm, courage to face tomorrow, or faithful friends who have walked with you through fire.
Whatever your story, never forget the blessings. Speak of them often. Write them down. Tell them to your children and your friends. Celebrate them, no matter how small. Because those blessings are not just random gifts — they are reminders that our God is alive, involved, and faithful. And when you hit the next trial — because life always brings another challenge — you will stand steadier if you have a heart full of remembrance. You will be able to say with confidence:
“If He did it before, He can do it again.”
So pause today. Take a breath. Reflect. And never, ever forget the blessings.
Scripture
“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits.” — Psalm 103:2 (ESV)
Let’s Say A Prayer
Heavenly Father,Thank You for every blessing, seen and unseen. Forgive me for the times I have forgotten Your faithfulness and taken Your gifts for granted. Help me to live with a heart of gratitude and remembrance, always aware of Your goodness. Strengthen my trust in You, and remind me that if You have been faithful in the past, You will be faithful again. May I never forget all You have done for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
