Do Not Fear

“Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” — Isaiah 41:10 NKJV

There are moments when life feels heavier than we expected. You don’t know how things are going to work out. You don’t have all the answers. You’ve prayed, waited, trusted—and yet the situation in front of you still looks impossible. And right in the middle of that uncertainty, God says: “Fear not, for I am with you.”

Notice that God doesn’t begin by promising to immediately change the circumstances. He promises His presence. Sometimes we want God to remove the problem, but God reminds us that even when the problem remains, we are not facing it alone.

“For I Am With You”

This is the foundation of everything else in the verse. God doesn’t say, “Don’t be afraid because nothing difficult will happen.” He says, “Don’t be afraid because I’m here.” The presence of God doesn’t always mean the absence of trouble. It means trouble never gets the final word. Whatever you’re walking through today, God has not abandoned you. He is with you in it.

“I Will Strengthen You”

There are seasons when you simply don’t feel strong enough. And maybe that’s the point. God never asked us to manufacture enough strength to carry everything ourselves. He invites us to depend on His. When your strength runs out, His doesn’t. Sometimes God changes the situation. Other times, He strengthens you while you walk through it. You may look back one day and realize that the thing you thought would destroy you actually became the place where God taught you how deeply you could depend on Him.

“I Will Help You”

What a promise. Not I might help you. Not I’ll help you if you figure everything out first. God says: “I will help you.” When you don’t know what to do—He will help you. When you’re exhausted—He will help you. When the door hasn’t opened yet—He will help you. When you’re wondering how you’re going to make it—He will help you.

“I Will Uphold You”

Maybe today you don’t need enough strength to run. Maybe you just need enough grace to stand. God promises to hold you up. There have probably already been moments when you wondered, How am I still standing after everything I’ve walked through? Grace. The righteous right hand of God has been holding you even when you didn’t realize it. So if today feels uncertain, remember Isaiah 41:10. You don’t have to know how everything will work out. You don’t have to have tomorrow figured out. You don’t have to carry everything yourself. You simply need to remember  Who is holding you today. He is with you.
 He will strengthen you.
 He will help you.
 He will uphold you. And if God is holding you, you can trust that He will not let you go.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for reminding me that I am never walking alone. When fear begins to take over, help me remember that You are with me. When I feel weak, be my strength. When I don’t know what to do, be my help. And when I feel like I can’t keep going, uphold me with Your righteous right hand. Help me trust You today, one step at a time. In Jesus’ name, amen.
