Call Unto Me

“Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” — Jeremiah 33:3 (NKJV)

Jeremiah received these words while sitting in a prison courtyard. Think about that for a moment. He wasn’t standing on a mountaintop celebrating victory. He wasn’t watching God answer every prayer exactly as he hoped. He was confined, rejected, and surrounded by uncertainty. Yet it was there—in the middle of hardship—that God extended an incredible invitation: “Call to Me.”

God didn’t tell Jeremiah to figure everything out. He didn’t tell him to rely on his own wisdom or wait until life made sense. He simply said, “Call to Me.” What an invitation that is for us today.When life is overwhelming…Call to Him. When you’re waiting for direction…Call to Him. When you’re carrying burdens too heavy to bear…Call to Him. When fear whispers that nothing will ever change…Call to Him. God is never inconvenienced by our prayers. He never grows tired of hearing His children cry out. In fact, He invites us to come boldly into His presence because He delights in meeting us there. Notice what God promises after the invitation. “I will answer you.”

That doesn’t always mean He answers the way we expect. Sometimes His answer is “yes.” Sometimes it’s “wait.” Sometimes it’s “ I have something better.” But He always answers according to His perfect wisdom and unfailing love. Then God adds something even more remarkable:”…and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” There are things God sees that we cannot. He sees tomorrow while we’re struggling with today.

He sees the purpose behind the pain. He sees the breakthrough before we ever recognize the battle. Our perspective is limited, but His is eternal. The invitation is still open. Don’t let worry replace prayer. Don’t let fear silence your faith. Don’t let unanswered questions keep you from talking with the One who holds every answer. Whatever you’re facing today, don’t carry it alone.

Call unto Him. He is listening. He is working. And He is able to do far more than you can imagine.

Prayer

Father, thank You for inviting me to call on You. Forgive me for the times I’ve carried burdens You never intended me to carry alone. Teach me to seek You first in every circumstance, trusting that You hear every prayer and answer according to Your perfect will. Open my eyes to see Your hand at work, even when I cannot yet understand what You are doing. Thank You for being a God who listens, responds, and reveals Your goodness to those who seek You.
