Family Fun
This past weekend we celebrated my Dads 61st birthday. We decided to throw a 70’s themed party. This meant costumes of course! We even had fun with the menu and did a play on the classic “Tv Dinner” (fried chicken, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, and a brownie) We listened to classic 70’s music, occasionally busting out and singing along. It was a great family night.
It was so fun to be together as a family, and be goofy, and laugh until tears ran down our faces. As I sat on the patio with my family I was hit with the feeling of thankfulness. Thankful for my family and all the love and support they have given to me throughout my life. Friends come and go, but family is forever! I’m thankful for those who came as friend but turned into family as well.
Take time to invest in those relationships that have value. A good relationship is worth more than gold. You need good and honest people around you. You need people who will tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear. You need people who will lovingly tell you the truth, and allow you to do the same. You need people that you can laugh and be goofy with. You need people and people need you! Embrace the good relationships in your life.
If you have a good family (blood or not) tell them how much you appreciate them. Let them know you love them!
Check out my crazy family!
